Hopewell-Loudon’s Lauren Trumpler signs with University of Findlay

Lauren Trumpler, a senior at Hopewell-Loudon High School, signed her National Letter of Intent on Sunday, November 18th at Waldo Pepper’s in Findlay, OH in front of a gathering of her high school and travel ball coaches, family and friends.  Trumpler, a 4-year starter at short stop for the Lady Chieftains and a member of the FAST Wizards Softball program, will continue her softball career at NCAA Division II University of Findlay in Findlay, OH in the fall of 2013.

“I am really excited about the opportunity to continue to play softball locally so that my family can share in this experience with me.  The University of Findlay is a great school and I feel like it was a good fit for me academically”, said Trumpler who plans to major in Actuary Sciences.

Trumpler earned 1st team MAL honors, 1st team All NW District and 1st team All-Ohio in 2012 while earning the Silver Slugger award with a batting average of .570 and team MVP.  She holds the school record for season batting average (.570), slugging percentage (1.19), hits in a season (45/79) and home runs in a season (9).

“Coach Ammons has been very interested in me for some time, and I feel like I will fit in well with the team since I have played with or against many of the girls at some point.  I am joining a team that already has talented players, so I hope to continue to work hard and make an impact.”
